CVC Volleyball Aces Carwash

The volleyball team has always taken Labor Day literally – and this year was no exception.

While many were enjoying the Booster’s Pancake Breakfast over at the elementary campus, the high school parking lot was covered with water, soap and 25 hard-working volleyball players – an activity that is nothing new for CVC.

“Even back when I played volleyball at CVC we did this,” said Coach Meghan Warkentin, a 2004 CVC grad.

It’s a tradition that pays. The wash sets no prices, just asks for a donation for your car wash. This year the fundraiser brought in right around $3500, a great boost for the team.

“My favorite part is working with the team during it,” said senior setter Katelyn VanderTuig. “Our team is just a big group of friends so even though we washed a lot of cars and it gets tiring we can still make it fun.”

They are off to a squeaky clean start! If you missed the wash this year, Coach Warkentin says you’ll have a second chance Labor Day 2015.

But for now? LET’S GO CAVS!
