CVC Parent Testimonial – Choose CVC Today

We asked one of our parents to share how CVC has fulfilled their mission and stayed the course during the sudden switch to distance learning in March 2020:

During this crazy COVID-19 time and distance learning, we are so thankful to be a part of the CVC community. CVC handled distance learning like they’d been doing it all along. While many other school-age kids had little to no direction, CVC teachers and staff kept our four children (8th, 6th, 4th and 1st grades) engaged and learning. The middle school teachers had daily Google meet times for the students to ask questions or just to connect, daily devotions and Friday zoom chapels, in addition to  continuing to bring fun things like House Shirt days and the virtual Variety Show to life as well. Kaitlyn (6th) enjoyed “chatting” with her classmates via Google chat, while finishing up the day’s work. We appreciated the 4th grade teachers deciding what subjects were vital and focusing on those, not stressing the kids out with busy work. Madi also loved Mrs. Altena’s optional flip grid fun days, spirit days and class Google Meets twice a week. Ashlyn (1st grade) really enjoyed seeing Mrs. Moll in the videos they did to explain the lessons. The iPad app they used was simple and easy to engage with. The class zoom calls were extra fun!

As parents, we were thankful for the teachers’ support, encouragement and availability for the students. We also appreciated the fact that they would adjust and change as needed, not just start off one way and stay the course if it didn’t seem to be working. We are SO thankful for all the teachers and staff who made this history-making time as best as it could be!
