We asked one of our parents to share how CVC has fulfilled their mission and stayed the course during the sudden switch to distance learning in March 2020:

Proverbs 16:9 says “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” So many plans have gone by the wayside over the past few months, and unbelievably, that has included traditional school. I have been a teacher for 15 years and am a parent to Lily (sophomore) and Grace (6th grade). Never in my life or career would I have been able to predict that the last quarter of my girls’ education in 2020 at CVC would have been held online. This is not what was planned for or predicted, but God has stayed true to his promises through all of this and established our steps. This includes my daughters’ education at Central Valley Christian.

Distance learning has definitely not been a walk in the park for our family, but CVC has made it as seamless and painless as it could possibly be. My daughters’ teachers have been gracious with due dates and allowed them to redo assignments. Communication has been often but not overbearing. The administrators’ emails were informative, heartfelt and encouraging. As time went on, it was very clear that adjustments were being made to encourage learning. Being a teacher myself, it was very clear that CVC had spent some time preparing for this scenario. School was dismissed Friday afternoon, and my girls had their learning plans in their inboxes on Monday morning. Many parts of the CVC body functioned together to virtually deliver quality, Christian education the last quarter of the 2019-2020 school year! Our family has truly appreciated and been grateful for the efforts of all the staff and teachers at CVC during this most unprecedented time in history.
